Since yesterday (May 15, 2019) SAP has released usage of HANA ScaleOut for Power9 (max 16 nodes in a ScaleOut Cluster)
BW and BW/4: 16 nodes x 16 TB = 256 TB max cluster size
S/4: 4 nodes x 24 TB = 96 TB max cluster size (min node size 6TB or higher)

Good News: Update of SAP Note 2230704 over the weekend - on Power9 E950 and E980 - without any further restrictions - up to 16 productive LPARs (or 15 + 1 shared pool) are now allowed!

Due to a bug in the Linux kernel for Linux on Power, using HTM (HANA transactional memory) can lead to a kernel panic.

Affected Releases: SAP HANA 2.0: Rev 024.04 - 024.10 (SPS02), Rev 031.00 - 037.00 (SPS03), Rev = 040.00 (SPS04) with SLES 12 SP01 – SP04
